Eve of the Hundred Years’ War.
Princess Diana spent the 1991 Christmas holidays at Sandringham as the royal family had done consistently for at least a hundred years. The royal holiday schedule (quelle horreur), quirky traditions, and suppressed emotions over the state of her failed marriage are all on display. The costumes are very similar to the real wardrobe of HRH and the sets are very palatial. Without much physical resemblance, the actress is able to convey the frame of mind one would have thought present at the time. This is not a fabulous movie, but still good to watch on a cozy, “rest your brain” evening. Just now.com will show where it is streaming. 2021
