3.5 stars Double day indeed

The life of famed mid- century British author of such classics as “The Birds” and “Rebecca” is explored in this BBC production. Her publisher, Mr. Doubleday and his wife Ellen Doubleday, figure large in the story which completely surprised this reviewer. Though made in 2007, the bad 1970’s style lighting is a bit of a distraction. The sets are not always convincing. The film is informative, but just OK. 2007.
